SNAEFELL

At
621 metres (2036 feet) high, Snaefell is the highest point on the
Isle of Man. For much of the year, the peak is covered in snow - indeed
the name ’Snaefell’ means ’snowfall’. Snaefell
summit can be reached in two ways - by walking or by taking the famous
electric trams. The tramway runs from Laxey and is called the Snaefell
Mountain Railway, the only such railway in the British Isles. Those
that make the journey will find there is even a letterbox near the
summit!
